An economical alternative for door security, the ExitHandleShield is ideal for securing emergency exits and escape windows.
Its patented closure system and shatter proof acrylic construction ensure that the unit can be easily re-used. The ExitHandleShield is installed over the door handle of an emergency exit to prevent it from being accidentally operated. The door handle isn’t accessible unless someone intentionally knocks off the cover.
OPERATION:
The ExitHandleShield is mounted over the door handle and is fixed using a patented security seal. In case of emergency the unit can be easily knocked off, with no risk of injury, enabling access to the handle. An optional battery powered alarm unit triggers an audible warning that the unit has been removed. The patented security seal has a perforated breaking point and a red/green identification label.
In use the seal comes apart at its breaking point enabling the ExitHandleShield to come off and the handle to be accessed. Due to the red/green combination of the seal it is possible to immediately determine whether the unit is secured. The red security seal section is the only thing required to re-secure handle. The combination of ExitHandleShield and Alarm Unit enables an audible on site alarm to be triggered or a signal passed to a control room.
